As Alex’s dad, John shared many great times with him throughout the years. Through all of Alex’s successes and challenges, John was there to provide his love and support. Many great memories put a smile on his face and, strangely enough, even some of those not so good memories have a way of doing the same.
The only memory that will never make John smile is the day that he came home from work early, feeling like something just wasn’t quite right, running upstairs, and finding Alex in his bed. It is a moment that he will never forget, and haunts him every day. Hopefully as time goes on, it will at least start to fade a little.
When Tyler approached John with the idea of starting a foundation in Alex’s memory, he knew instantly that it was something that he not only wanted to be a part of, but needed to be a part of. He is so deeply touched by the amount of time and effort Alex’s friends have been putting into this. John’s hope for this foundation is not only to keep Alex’s memory alive, but more importantly to help as many kids like Alex, with the support that they and their families need.
John is a licensed master electrician and electrical contractor based in the Troy area. Alex worked for John “off and on” over the years, and actually became pretty good at it. Those memories are some of John’s fondest ones. John still lives in Troy, in the home that Alex grew up in, with his wife Margaret, his son Nicholas and his step daughter Bobbi.
